The Rib Festies are back! Shake off the winter blues with the hottest event in La Porte City. Join us for a night of fierce competition, community spirit, and incredible BBQ. Competitors will be firing up their smokers to battle for the championship title, and you are the judge.

How the Voting Works
This isn’t just about eating; it’s about judging! Every attendee plays a part in crowning the champion. When you enter, you receive 5 tickets. Each ticket is redeemable for one rib from any of our competitors. After you have sampled the goods, you cast your vote for the best ribs by writing the competitor’s number on your voting card.
The Awards
The stakes are high! We award trophies for the top three competitors:
- Rib Festies Champion (1st Place): The ultimate bragging rights in La Porte City.
- The Porkfectionist (2nd Place): For outstanding flavor and tenderness.
- Master of Meat (3rd Place): A title defended with honor.
What Competitors Do
Our competitors work hard to bring you the best BBQ. They pick up their racks weeks in advance to prep. They are responsible for their own unique seasoning, marinating, and cooking methods. Whether they use a smoker, grill, or oven, they aim to have the ribs cooked to safe temperatures and ready for prompt serving at 5:00 PM.
Community Impact
Proceeds from Rib Festies go directly back into the La Porte City community. As part of the Lions Clubs International mission “We Serve,” funds raised help support local scholarships, the Festival of Trails, youth programs, and other civic improvements.
