At our last meeting, the club decided to make several donations, including $250 to Union High School After Prom, $250 to the Visually Impaired Camp at Camp Courageous and $546 to Leader Dogs for the Blind.  The club has also paid our 9NE zone dues.
Planning continues for the Festival of Trails 2015 edition.  The next planning meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2015 at 8 p.m. at Shawn Mehlert’s home.  We are looking for more volunteers to help plan the event and would appreciate your help.  Please join us and say “Yes” when asked to help.
The Festival Parade Committee has begun meeting already and this year’s parade will be the best yet.  If you know of someone who might want to have an entry in the  parade, contact Bill Judd via email— or call him at 240-7724.
Lions club scholarship applications, available at the Union High School Guidance Office, will be dueMarch 31, 2015.  Our club awards 4—$500 scholarships each year, so if you know someone who is graduating from Union HS this May, encourage them to apply.
Just a reminder that 2015 dues are due and payable asap.  The cost remains at $80 per year or $180 if you want to include meals.  Mail dues to Neal Keegan, 815 Commercial, La Porte City, IA 50651.
