Scholarships & Spouses

Our 2016 LPC Lions Club scholarship winners and spouses of deceased members will be invited to the July meeting.

The scholarship winners have been invited, along with their parents. They will be talking about their career and college plans. We will also be presenting checks for $500 to the winners made out to both the recipient as well as the college.

All spouses are invited to this meeting. In addition to your spouse’s attendance, we have also invited the spouses of deceased members. We will take time to thank them for their husbands contributions to the community and the club.

During our board meeting, we discussed improvements for the gazebo. A workday will be scheduled to clean up the bricks, replace the bushes and other maintenance. The date for the gazebo cleanup will be announced at the meeting. If you are interested in helping, please contact…

Community Sign

Lion LeBahn approached the Lions Club Board with a proposal to get a community sign up and running for organizations to post events and/or businesses to market/advertise on. The board decided to push forward with the project.

A community sign committee has been assembled to address location, fundraising, and the management of content to be posted on the sign.

Initial thoughts are to put the sign in front of the nursing home so it will be seen by people from out of town, as well as “the-in-towners”.

Again, there will be fundraising needed to able to purchase and install the sign. The committee is looking for donations as well as submitting grants to the casino to get it financed. Additional questions or comments can be directed to Lion Lane LeBahn @ 319-239-5429.
