Callers, please have your numbers to Heather (319-404-1274) by Monday, October 17th. We will be discussing ongoing activities between the two clubs and having a short business meeting. Little Free Library
The construction of the Little Free Libraries is complete. At this time, we are working with the City to get them installed. If you have books you would like to donate, or have other questions/comments, please get a hold of Lion Judd @ 319-240-7724.
Ideas for fundraisers/service projects:
A few of you have submitted ideas for service projects, which will be brought up in the near future. Thank you for those ideas. If any of you have ideas for fundraisers, please let the board know so they can be discussed. We are always looking for new and fresh ideas.
“New” Position within our Club:
Lions Club International has required that we have a contact person for LCIF. Due to Shawn Mehlert being the secretary of the club and receiving much of the correspondence for LCIF, he was nominated by the board to be the contact person. Thank you Shawn for accepting this role!

Again, the board decided to move forward with LPC Lions shirts. The shirts will better identify Lions members at events and also promote our club. Last chance to order shirts at the meeting on the 20th. Going to be ordering and hopefully getting them here by Christmas. The cost of the shirt is $25. Payment will be due at the time of you placing your order. If you cannot be present at one of the meetings, called Lion Mehlert – 319-342-3121
The committee for the community sign continues to meet and discuss ideas and plans. As a reminder, the new sign will be funded through fundraising efforts. A minimum 50% commitment is needed to get a grant from the Isle, which is part of the fundraising efforts. For questions on the community sign, please see Lion Lane LeBahn @ 319-239-5429.
As we continue to serve our community, one of the ways we can do that, is to continue to grow our club. So I ask you, and challenge you to think of new people that you can introduce to the Lions Club. Bring them to a meeting, encourage them to join. Who will you bring?
