Cornhole/Bags Tournament

On February 25 & March 25, the Lions Club will be hosting Cornhole (Bags) Tournaments. These will be held at the La Porte City Golf Club, at 1 PM.

Cornhole or “Bags” is like horseshoes except you use wooden boxes called cornhole platforms and corn bags instead of horseshoes and metal stakes. Contestants take turns pitching their corn bags at the cornhole platform until a contestant reaches the score of 21 points. A corn bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point.

The Lions Club is looking for two-person teams and the entry fee is $20 per team. A complete match is the best out of three, with cancellation scoring. First team to win two games wins the match and advances. This is a double elimination tournament so you get to play at least two matches. 🙂

There is no need to preregister. Just show up to the golf club at least one half hour before the tournament starts to sign up. However, if you would like to secure your team early you can visit the link below to get started. There will be cash prizes to the top finishing teams, dependent upon the number of teams entered. Any questions regarding the Cornhole tournaments, contact Zach Hoover at 563-920-0410.
